Mediatek Dimensity 1200 Chipset Will Be Stronger Than Snapdragon 865

JAKARTA - MediaTek will announce its newest chipset later this month. Although there is still little information, leaks related to this smartphone chip have started to appear on the internet.

According to Gizmochina, the chipset is touted as the Dimensity 1200. In the previous article, we reported that the Chinese mobile chipset manufacturer has confirmed that they will soon present their latest chipset fabrication, on January 20.

This chipset is predicted to come with a new fabrication measuring 6nm. Yes! In a way, it is the first 6nm chipset designed by MediaTek.

With its smaller size, the new chipset will bring increased performance and efficiency, according to Digital Chat Station, one of the top leaks from China.

In a post on Weibo, Digital Chat Station said that it had seen the specs sheet of the chipset and from what it saw it could be concluded that this chipset was more powerful than Snapdragon 865. Why? Because it has a higher frequency.

This shows that the chipset has a higher clock speed than Snapdragon 865, which has a clock speed of 2.84 GHz. MediaTek also launched Dimensity 1000+ last month and the chipset has a clock speed of 2.6 GHz.

Previous leaks stated that the Dimensity 1200 will have one Cortex-A78 core with a 3.0 GHz clock speed which is paired with three Cortex-A78 cores with a clock speed of 2.6 GHz and four Cortex-A55 cores which have a clock speed of 2.0 GHz.

Another detail that comes from the Digital Chat Station is that CPU performance is not the only improvement it gets from MediaTek's new chipset. He also mentioned an improved 5G modem and an improved Image Signal Processor (ISP) which will help the device take better photos.

So, which smartphone manufacturers are interested in the Dimensity 1200? No doubt, the Dimenity series introduced by MediaTek has caught the attention of many smartphone manufacturers. It is estimated that the Dimensity 1200 will be present on smartphones made by Vivo, OPPO, Realme, and iQOO.
