JAKARTA - At the 2021 Consumer Electronic Show (CES) that is currently taking place, Fossil has announced its first LTE-capable Wear OS smartwatch in the form of the Fossil Gen 5 LTE. Unfortunately, this capability only supports Verizon Wireless in the US.

Broadly speaking, the Fossil Gen 5 LTE is still the same as its predecessor in terms of specifications, including being powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 3100 chipset with 1GB RAM and 8GB of internal storage.

As for the design, this smart watch comes with a circular AMOLED screen measuring 1.28 inches, 416x416 pixels and 328 pixels per inch (ppi). There is also a rotating home button and two additional, customizable push buttons.

Similar to other smartwatches, this Fossil Gen 5 LTE has all the necessary sensors such as accelerometer, altimeter, compass, gyroscope, IR off-body, and PPG heart rate sensor.

For connectivity, besides 4G it also supports WiFi, Bluetooth 4.2 LE, GPS, and NFC. Other features include a loudspeaker, microphone, 5ATM water resistance, and magnetic charging.

As for the software, this wearable device runs Google Wear OS and is compatible with Android 6.0+ and iOS 12.0+ smartphones.

Finally, this device comes in two colors namely Black and Pink and is sold for 349 US dollars (almost Rp 5 million). The watch is pre-ordered on the official Fossil website and will start shipping around January 20.
