JAKARTA - Data leaks can occur from companies from each industrial sector. Any leaked data, must contain important information.

But is there a leak that can be considered safe? This is Kaspersky's example of data leakage on food delivery services. What data was leaked?

Delivery services may not leak banking details, the reason is because they didn't handle it.

Some of them use payment gateways controlled by the recipient bank, where card numbers cannot be seen, let alone stored by traders.

However, Kaspersky assesses leaks from food delivery services are generally more dangerous than the marketplace.

According to him, orders placed in the marketplace can be taken at the collection site or post office, while food orders are always sent directly to customers, such as homes or offices.

The data in question here is such as phone numbers, physical addresses, as well as wealth information and customer behavior patterns. How does the leak threaten customers?

There is nothing positive to get from a set of personal information available in public domains, and this is a possible negative among them, potential attackers have information about where the victim lives, how much they spend on food delivery, when they order it, and on what day they tend to follow it, and it's all the perfect recipe for robbery.

The leak can show a portrait of the customer and send the targeted spam to the known postal address.

Such a database not only contains a home address, but also a business address.

And this allows attackers to use social engineering to penetrate the company's internal network through shipping service customers.

For example, by calling and letting them know that they have won and been sent a gift of customer loyalty which turns out to be a flash drive with malware.
