JAKARTA - Microsoft Corp on Monday March 6 combined ChatGPT technology with its Power Platform which allows users to develop applications with little or no programming, into the latest integration into its products.

Major tech companies from Alphabet Inc to Baidu Inc are also accelerating the integration of generative AI - a technology that is gaining popularity for its ability to generate human-like text responses to queries - into their products.

Microsoft said that a suite of business and application development tools within Power Platform, including Power Virtual Agent and AI Builder, were updated with the new capabilities.

Power Virtual Agent, a tool for businesses building chatbots, can now connect to internal company resources to generate weekly summary reports and customer inquiries.

Microsoft has also added generative AI capabilities to AI Builder, which enables businesses to automate workflows, and launched a new version of its Dynamics 365 business management platform based on the technology.

Dynamics 365 Copilot, the latest version of Microsoft tools that includes a number of applications for sales, customer service, and marketing, integrates AI to automate certain tasks such as data collection and analysis or creating email campaigns, among other capabilities.

Microsoft also announced on Monday that Chief Executive, Satya Nadella, will be holding an event on March 16 to discuss "transforming productivity with AI".

So far, the company has announced AI updates to its Windows operating system and popular search engine Bing, but not yet to its Office productivity suite, which includes Word and Excel.
