JAKARTA - Apple officially removed Parler, a social media and microblogging app bustling with Donald Trump supporters from the App Store on Saturday, January 9.

Parler was removed for posting supporting violence and it is against Apple rules.

The app has users who are mostly Trump supporters as well as conservatives, right-wing extremists, and conspiracy theorists.

The riots on Capitol Hill last week could not be separated from the role of the Parler application in sharing messages.

Apart from Apple, Amazon and Google are also doing the same thing. However, John Matze as CEO of Parler said this attack was carried out by the tech giants to kill the competition on the internet.

He did not explain the abuse of the Parler platform that caused the riots on Capitol Hill. According to Apple, their party will not support a platform that provides a place for violence and illegal activity.

"We suspend Parler from the App Store until they resolve this issue," said Apple was quoted by CNET on Sunday, January 10.

Previously, Apple had sent a warning letter so that Parler could moderate the content in the application, but because they did not do so, Apple made this decision.

Even though the Parler application was removed from Apple, Google, and Amazon, users can access Parler through an online site.
