JAKARTA - WhatsApp will soon bring the ability for iPhone users to edit messages after being sent via the Meta messaging application.
According to a WABetaInfo report, WhatsApp users will be able to edit messages up to 15 minutes after sending, the same duration that Apple provides to iMessage users who want to edit messages sent.
Telegram also has a similar feature, but gives users 48 hours longer to edit messages.
The WhatsApp message editing feature on iPhone works similarly to what has been applied on Android beta, where users simply press messages and press the Edit button.
Then, the app will display edited labels on messages that have been edited by the sender.
Keep in mind, the editing option only works for text messages, but not for image text, video, and documents, as quoted from 9to5Mac, Monday, February 27.
It is not known for sure when WhatsApp plans to make this feature publicly available. However, given that the feature has just been released to WhatsApp beta users for the iPhone, the official launch may be coming soon.
For your information, the Meta messaging app continues to add new capabilities. WhatsApp is starting to launch image-in-image support, where users can continue their video calls in small windows while doing other things on their iPhone.
Recently WhatsApp was also reportedly working on a newsletter feature. This feature can be used by the local government or anyone who is verified to distribute messages to a large number of users. This feature is similar to the same way as the Telegram channel.
