JAKARTA - Snapchat has launched several new features so users can create content by including trending songs or sounds.

"Today we are pleased to announce the Sound's Recommendations for Lenses and Sound's Sync for Camera Roll, a new Sound creative tool that makes it easier to create and share," Snapchat said in its official blog post, quoted Friday, February 24.

The Sound's Recommendations for Lenses system, which is a popular Augmented Reality (AR) filter, can be used by users to find which votes others use with the lenses they apply.

Users can also add popular audio to their own photos or videos. This feature is now available to users globally.

"By expanding the Sounds experience, Snapchat makes it easier and faster for Snapchatters to find and share the music they love with friends," said Snap's Head of Music Strategy, Manny Adler.

Snapchat also launched the Sound's Sync for Camera Roll tool, hereby they can create a montage video that will automatically follow the rhythm of the audio track from the Sound library.

In addition, users can also choose between 4 to 20 photos and videos from their camera rollers. This feature has been rolled out globally for iOS users first and is present on Android next month.

"Snapchat has also created unique opportunities for artists to reach valuable and engaged audiences, while directing fans to listen to full songs on streaming services," Adler said.

With the presence of these two new features, Snapchat is once again trying to beat the TikTok market, which now dominates the short video platform. The social media with the yellow logo currently has 250 million users.
