JAKARTA - Spotify launched a new Artificial Intelligence (AI) feature called DJ, which serves to further personalize the experience of listening to music for its users.

The Spotify DJ feature will present a choice of music with very realistic verbal comments based on AI about music and a preferred artist.

Users will have full control over what music is playing. If you don't like it, users can tap the DJ button to change the genre, artist, and style.

Furthermore, the Spotify DJ feature sorts the latest and old music that is the user's favorite. Then, he will review what users might enjoy, and provide a selected line of songs.

This feature works like a station on Spotify, where the flow of songs doesn't end. The company says its new DJ feature is a combination of existing personalization technologies, AI noise from Sonantitic acquisition in 2022, and Gegenerative AI through the use of OpenAI technology.

Spotify states they also provide music editors, experts, scriptwriters, and data curators with access to OpenAI's Generative AI technology to improve their insights into music, artists, and genres. The technology is used to make culturally relevant and accurate comments on a large scale.

Currently, Spotify DJ is rolling out to Premium users in the United States (US) and Canada in beta. The company plans to also launch to customers around the world.
