JAKARTA - After last week suddenly limiting Bing's chat sessions powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI), Microsoft is now pledging to restore the chatbot chat for a longer duration.

"We intend to restore longer chats and work hard as we talk about the best way to do this responsibly," Microsoft said in a blog post.

The company will start by expanding the chat to six rounds per session (up from five) and 60 chats per day (up from 50).

In fact, Microsoft plans to increase the daily limit to 100 chats. But he said regular searches would no longer be counted from that total.

Our data shows that for most of you this will allow the use of Bing daily naturally. However, our intention is to go further, and we plan to immediately increase the daily limit to 100 total chats, "said Microsoft.

The tech giant is also dealing with concerns where Bing AI may be too long-winded to present a response. Therefore, Microsoft started testing other options.

Users can choose chat tones, with the Precise option (accustomers shorter, more focused), Creative (longer and more flaring), or Balanced for both.

Microsoft's decision last week to limit Bing to five rounds of chat per session, and 50 chats per day emerged after the chatbot empowered by ChatGPT made headlines.

At the time, early beta testers from Bing found the search engine seen insulting users, lying to them, and manipulating people emotionally if they engage in long conversations.

However, the restrictions led some users to demand that Microsoft release Sydney, the internal code name for the new Bing.

Microsoft previously said it did not fully anticipate people using longer Bing AI chats as entertainment, as quoted from Engadget, Wednesday, February 22.

Currently, a looser limit is an attempt to strike a balance between the feedback that supports the chat, as well as provide protection that prevents bots from moving in other directions.
