JAKARTA Spotify launched a feature that users are really waiting for, where they can ignore music on certain playlists.
This feature is pursued Except from Your Profiles, and Spotify will then keep user recommendations from being flooded with songs and artists that don't suit their tastes in general.
Spotify says the feature can tell which playlist platform users want to reduce its impact on their recommendations.
According to the platform, some users may not want certain playlists to affect their recommendations for various reasons. This includes families who have playlists of songs for children.
With a touch of buttons, Except from Your Flavor Profile lets you save selected playlists from being included in your Flavor Profile and reduce its influence on your recommendations," Spotify said in its official blog.
This allows you to tell which playlist Spotify you want to reduce its impact on your recommendations, adapt Spotify's personalization experience to your needs," he added.
Removing playlists from recommendations does not mean users will no longer find that playlist on Spotify. Playlists can still be found easily in the Home tab, and the songs you like on the playlist will not be affected.
"After Excluding Your Flavor Profile is enabled, it will exclude listening to past and future playlists of Your Flavor Profile," Spotify said.
The streaming music platform says users can exclude playlists using iOS, Android, and desktop applications as well as their web players.
To do so, select playlist, tap the three-dot button, then tap the Except from Your Profiles. However, you may not have the feature immediately, as Spotify says this feature just started rolling out yesterday.
Launching The Verge, Friday, February 10, this isn't the first time Spotify has given users control over what affects and doesn't affect their algorithmic recommendations. If users activate Personal Sessions, whatever they listen to won't color the Created playlist for You.
