JAKARTA The crypto trading company founded by Changpeng Zhao, Binance, recently announced a deal with the Georgia Innovation and Technology Agency (GITA). The partnership is aimed at providing educational and community initiatives related to blockchain and the crypto industry in Georgia.
This is a follow-up to the Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister Garibashvili in November 2022. The meeting resulted in a number of joint projects through Binance Academy and Binance Charity in organizing education and community development in terms of blockchain through seminars or workshops.
"Our goal is in line with the goals of the Georgia Innovation and Technology Agency - together, we can create an effective system in Georgia, where innovation and technology can be developed," said Binance Regional Director Vladimir Smerkis.
For a long time, we have seen a huge interest in cryptocurrency markets and in particular, crypto education in Georgia. I want to emphasize separately that Georgia is one of the most innovation-driven countries in the region," added Smerkis.
Meanwhile, Avtandandil Ksradze as Chair of GITA stated that the workshop on blockchain would be held in the Georgia technology park. The government will facilitate the establishment of new startup ideas and the implementation of commercialized-oriented projects.
Not the First
Georgia is known as a crypto-friendly country. The country also plans to update digital asset rules to legalize the cryptocurrency industry. Even so, for Binance, this is not the first time to provide educational initiatives in the country.
