Crypto Literacy Month 2023: Instill Crypto Asset Trading Literacy in Society

JAKARTA - The crypto industry in Indonesia continues to grow rapidly. During the 2023 Crypto Literacy Month (BLK) event, Chairperson of the Indonesian Crypto Asset Traders Association (ASPAKRINDO) Teguh Kurniawan Harmanda said that crypto investment is more in demand by young people and the millennial generation.

But in fact, many people who start to enter crypto asset trading are inversely proportional to their knowledge and literacy about trading crypto assets themselves.

"Crypto investment is of interest to young people, millennials because they think that this crypto can benefit in a short time. However, they forget the risks involved", said the man who is familiarly called Manda in his remarks at the 2023 Crypto Literacy Month event on Thursday, February 2 in Jakarta.

However, Manda does not blame the public for considering trading crypto assets as a source of money. However, the community also needs further understanding regarding the applicable crypto asset trading regulations.

"When talking about crypto assets, the association is definitely about money. It's not wrong, but what needs to be underlined is the knowledge of the public how they understand what the regulations related to crypto asset trading in Indonesia", said Manda.

With the implementation of Crypto Literacy Month (BLK) 2023 today, Manda hopes that they can increase public education about the importance of having a deeper understanding of crypto asset trading, not just joining in.

"BLK is here as a synergy between CoFTRA and other crypto asset service providers on how to increase public knowledge regarding customer protection, and about better trust in the community", he concluded.

Organized by the Ministry of Trade through the Commodity Futures Trading Supervisory Agency (BAPPEBTI) together with the Association of Indonesian Crypto Asset Traders (ASPAKRINDO), Crypto Literacy Month 2023 is here to strengthen public understanding regarding the physical trading of Crypto Assets.
