JAKARTA - Meta expands the availability of new private spaces specifically for members on the Meta Horizon Worlds to more limited alpha testers with many other additional controls.
Meta says that this limited alpha test is intended to give creators the same level of autonomy in developing and moderating their own communities.
"Just like a private space that gives people a place to call themselves, a world of member-onlyness allows content creators to build and process spaces where people's communities can gather to enjoy curated experiences," Meta said in its blog.
By selecting up to 150 members manually and 25 visitors at the same time at a certain time, content creators can offer exclusive access to VIP advocates by creating special spaces to showcase their world design portfolios to creator communities, organize book clubs, gather game communities, and so on.
"Our goal is to give the creators a design so they can fully design the experiences they want to offer to others," said Mark Zuckerberg's tech giant.
With Horizon Worlds specifically for members, Meta has a vision to empower creators to structure their community culture by developing its own norms, etiquette, and social rules over time.
In addition, Meta also revealed that Horizon Worlds will soon be available on the Web and mobile devices, including members-only worlds with rules to be created and enforced in the same way that mobile operating systems manage experiences on their platforms.
During this alpha test, Meta will select a small group of trusted creators to partner, in order to get input on the design and moderation of its member-only world, so that the company can continue to perfect its products.
"This testing will help ensure that we have prepared creators with the tools they need to succeed and users see clear benefits before we consider expanding the availability of a member-only world to more creators," concluded Meta.
