JAKARTA - Global cybersecurity firm Kaspersky revealed the landscape of Management Safety Service Providers (MSSP/Managed Security Service Providers) in Southeast Asia, particularly the main benefits obtained by MSMEs and local companies from outsourced models.

Experts estimate the stable growth of Southeast Asia's managed Security Service Providers market in the coming years due to a collective push in the region towards digital transformation initiatives across the country.

According to Kaspersky's latest IT Security Economic Report, businesses in the region are converting security functionals to the MSSP primarily to achieve efficiency in providing security solutions (73.9 percent), to address TI employee shortages (57.9 percent), and to meet requirements in specialized security expertise (55.8 percent).

While Asia Pacific continues to develop its cybersecurity workforce, a recent study noted a gap, in which 2.1 million local security staff are urgently needed in the regionn.

The efforts of the Southeast Asian region to digitize have also been delayed due to the lack of cybersecurity experts with the right expertise to combat sophisticated cyber threats.

Yeo claimed to have actively partnered with local universities to provide training and workshops to improve students' skills and ensure their curriculum can meet current industry demands. However, it took years for students to become cybersecurity professionals.
