Nokia Signs For The New License Cross Patent Agreement With Samsung Related To 5G Technology

JAKARTA - Finnish phone and telecommunications manufacturer Nokia announced on Monday January 23 that it had signed a new cross-license patent agreement with Samsung following the end of the previous agreement at the end of 2022.

"Based on an agreement that includes Nokia's fundamental discoveries in 5G and other technologies, Samsung will make payments to Nokia for a multi-year period starting January 1, 2023," the Finnish company said.

However, the terms of the agreement remain kept secret. According to Nokia, the agreement is consistent with the disclosure of their previous long-term prospects.

As some 5G technology patent owners, Nokia can benefit from patent agreements with Samsung. In addition to royalties paid by Samsung to use 5G technology developed by Nokia, patent agreements with Samsung can increase the value of Nokia's company because Samsung is a large technology company that has a large market share.

Patent agreements with Samsung could improve Nokia's reputation as an innovative and credible technology company, after production of her cellphone had decreased compared to 20 years ago.

Patent agreements with Samsung could provide a new business opportunity for Nokia with Samsung and other companies using 5G technology developed by Nokia.
