JAKARTA - EVgo, one of the country's largest public fast charging networks for electric vehicles (EVs), announced a partnership with Amazon to support Alexa-backed EV charging experience during the CES 2023.

This collaboration will allow drivers to ask Alexa to help them find and navigate to nearby EV charging stations, as well as start and pay for charging sessions at EVgo stations smoothly, starting later this year.

"By partnering with EVgo, we present Alexa's AI and a multi-modal experience to improve the EV charging experience for drivers and streamline the process of finding, starting, and paying for charging sessions," said Anes Hod

The EV charging experience with Alexa support from Amazon is designed to leverage PlugShare, the world's leading EV community and part of the EVgo Inc. family, as well as EVgo Inside.

Integrated with the Alexa app, PlugShare API will allow customers to find nearby charging stations, access comprehensive public EV charging maps and ultimately take advantage of the unlimited charging experience built on for more than a decade serving the world's largest EV driver community.

Meanwhile, with EVgo Inside integration, customers can also register a new EVgo account, find EVgo charging stations, start charging sessions, and complete all payments from within their Alexa app.

Going forward, EVgo claims that customers will also be able to see the availability of chargers in real-time and view session and bill information.

"The principle with EVgo and Amazon to become customers-centric and committed to a sustainable future makes an innovative experience like voice-initized charging possible," said Cathy Zoi, CEO at EVgo.

This partnership with Amazon was made to support its Climate Icrar to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2040. Through this partnership, Amazon customers can access more than 150,000 US public charging stations listed on PlugShare.
