The US Government Demands To Suspension 250,000 Accounts Of Canadian Officials And Journalists, What's Going On?

JAKARTA - Elon Musk, in a recent tweet, claims that the US government agency is demanding a suspension of 250,000 accounts, including accounts belonging to Canadian journalists and officials, suspected of strengthening China's propaganda and disinformation about COVID-19.

"The US government agency demands the suspension of 250 thousand accounts, including Canadian journalists and officials!" Elon Musk said in reply to journalist Matt Taibbi's Twitter thread on Tuesday night.

This new leak from Twitter's internal conversations highlights the relationship between social media company owned by Elon Musk and government agencies.

In a tweet, Taibbi revealed the increasing and endless pressure the US government has on Twitter in collaboration with Congress to hunt Russia's interference on the platform.

According to Mithabi, these accounts are described under criteria such as explaining the corona virus as an engineered biological weapon', faming the research carried out at the Wuhan Institute, and linking the emergence of the virus with the CIA.

The GEC report also includes 250,000 lists of accounts following "two or more" Chinese diplomatic accounts.

As a former head of Twitter trust and security, Roth sees the report as GEC's attempt to use intelligence from other agencies to'send' into content moderation clubs that include Twitter, Facebook, the FBI, DHS, and others, according to Taibbi.

Lately, there have been many changes on Twitter after Musk became CEO of the microblogging site. Recently, he announced changes to the Interface User from the platform's 'Bookmark' feature.

Musk has also changed his policies, where now user accounts, political accounts and other organizations can create political advertisements there.
