JAKARTA - Ahead of the launch of its smartphone next year, Samsung is reportedly testing its own interface, One UI 5.1, by presenting many new features.

Later, One UI 5.1 will be embedded with the Galaxy S23 smartphone line which is planned to be launched in February 2023.

SamMobile, which tracks Samsung's software update, claims the company will bring the next major update to Android 13.

Such as adopting a new and more detailed media player widget for the main screen and lock screen. In addition, the upgrade of the taskbar and screen mirroring is also reportedly in process.

Interestingly, the Android 13 predictive re-motion system finally came to Samsung's phone which was intended for the One UI 5.1 update.

The South Korean tech giant has also begun to emulate the security and privacy dashboard of Android 13, which places all sensitive arrangements and information in one place.

In addition, Samsung also lets users make the desired changes, this privacy hub is where users can see which apps have access to system resources and sensitive datasets such as location information.

The company reportedly used three Galaxy S22 series phones as a trial for the One UI 5.1 update. However, the Galaxy S22 series phones will get updates in the future.

Launching Slashgear, Thursday, December 29, considering Samsung's policy of offering three to four years of guaranteed Android OS upgrades, the possibilities that will get One UI 5.1 are the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S22, and Galaxy S21 series.

At least, the previous two generations of foldable phones in the Galaxy Z Flip and Galaxy Z Fold will also certainly get an upgrade of One UI 5.1.

Samsung recently also made great steps to extend the lifespan of its Galaxy A series, and it's no surprise to see the Galaxy A53 and A73 also get a One UI 5.1 in the near future.
