JAKARTA - Google added a new Highlights tab to its contact management service, Google Contacts, after receiving a Material You transition last month.

With this update, the Google Contacts app appears with three main list tabs that include Contacts tabs, Highlights tabs, and Fix & Manage tabs.

Tab Highlights is located at the bottom of the Contacts app screen, accommodating comfortably between Contacts tabs and Fix & Manage tabs.

When tapping the Highlights tab, users will also find a special section for Favorites and Recents. With Favorites, users can tag multiple contacts that are often used or tagged as important contacts.

They can search for it using a search bar and then add it to a favorite from the top right corner.

Meanwhile, Recents includes contacts that can be included in two separate tab lists, namely Viewed and Added recently.

Both provide access to the user's latest contacts, so they can find them quickly instead of having to browse the entire contact list.

In addition, the Google Contacts app can also be used to back up contacts and sync them on all user devices. This helps keep contacts regular and up-to-date. This was quoted from 9to5Google, Tuesday, December 27.
