Increase In Network Traffic, Kominfo Makes Sure Connectivity Remains Optimal During Christmas And New Year

Ahead of the 2022 Christmas and New Year holidays in 2023, telecommunications service providers and Minister of Communications and Informatics Johnny G. Plate predicted an increase in data traffic.

The reason is because of the mobility of the community and density at various points of interest, such as tourist attractions, shopping centers, and public transportation facilities in various regions.

For this reason, Johnny stated that the Ministry of Communication and Informatics has encouraged cellular telecommunications service providers to strengthen network capacity and quality.

The goal is to ensure that the Indonesian people can still get the best service and stay connected to one another.

"Kominfo encourages capacity strengthening and network quality through BTS mobile deployments in the field, mobilization of personnel for standby posts and drive tests for network optimization as well as monitoring and follow-up network disruptions through command centers and network operations centers," Johnny said in a statement on the Kominfo website.

Furthermore, Kominfo will also monitor radio frequency spectra to ensure use can run well during the peak season of communication flows ahead of Christmas and New Year.

"Regularly carried out by 35 Technical Implementation Units (UPT) throughout Indonesia on holidays (Christmas and New Year) with priority targets for maritime frequencies of danger, flights, cellular bands, and also weather radars," he said.

The Minister of Communication and Information emphasized that together with cellular telecommunications service providers, efforts to maintain the resilience of connectivity networks.

"Try to be as optimal as possible to support the smooth Christmas holidays in 2022 and the upcoming 2023 New Year," he said.
