Pratama Cyber Security Experts 'Still' Call The President's Site.go.id Also Owned By The State

The Presidential Palace of the Republic of Indonesia (RI) has stated that the original website is presidentri.go.id not president.go.id, but cybersecurity expert Pratama Persadha still ensures that both are owned by the state.

"The domain president.go.id is definitely the domain owned by the government and managed by government agencies. It is used or should not be monitored and well maintained," said Pratama to VOI, Thursday, November 24.

According to Pratama, this domain may be managed by the Palace, such as the Presidential Secretariat Office (KSP), the State Secretary (SetNeg), or the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kemenkominfo).

"This domain may be managed by the Palace (KSP, SetNeg) or the Ministry of Communication and Information. If the president's domain.go.id is blocked, surely the admin or person in charge has never checked, supervised and monitored their email or system," said Pratama.

Pratama explained, to extend the domain, it takes around Rp. 87.100. It is said, this is a very affordable price.

"The price for the extension of the go.id domain is around Rp. 87.100.00, which is very cheap and does not mean that there are no government agencies. If only mild domain problems cannot take care of them, what about more complicated cybersecurity issues? No wonder leaks and hacks occur in government-owned systems," said Pratama.

Finally, Pratama requested that the domain president.go.id must be well managed and secured, so as not to be misused by any party.

"Even if the official website used is presidentri.go.id, the domain president.go.id must still be managed and secured properly, because the name is very sensitive if used by irresponsible parties," said Pratama.

Previously reported, the presidential.go.id website, which was claimed to be the official President of the Republic of Indonesia, has an announcement that the page cannot be accessed because it has not paid the rent.

"PLEASE RETURN AT ANOTHER TIME. Sorry, the site you are trying to access is currently not available because it is in the process of completing the payment for the domain name rental. If you are a visitor to this site, please contact the domain manager of this site," wrote the announcement of the presidential website.go.id.

"If you are the domain manager of this site, please click here to make an invoice request," he added.

It also says the WhatsApp contact number on behalf of PANDI for further information, and the Ministry of Communication and Information's WhatsApp contact for administrative completion.
