JAKARTA - Cybersecurity requires continuous vigilance, either through built-in protection, or providing resources to deal with security threats that continue to change.

As security threats develop, continued collaboration is needed to protect users and help create a safer Internet.

Google as the largest technology giant in the world still needs collaboration with other parties. One of its initiatives in Indonesia is the Cybersecurity Corner from Google Cloud Indonesia and the Center for Digital Society, Gajah Mada University.

The initiative, which has been attended by more than 3,000 government officials, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), academics, and non-profit organizations, is aimed at providing understanding of cybersecurity issues, as well as how Google and Google Cloud face cyber threats as well as the role of cloud computing in the digital economy.

The priority is to support and increase the capacity of SMEs to help increase the pace of Indonesia's digital economy, especially their resilience to cyber threats.

In collaboration with the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN), the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs, the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kemenkominfo), ICT Watch and the Indonesian E-Commerce Association (idEA), Google launched a Cybersecurity program for MSMEs.

"Currently, our country's situation is very sensitive to data security issues, especially personal data," said Inspector General of Police Dono Indarto, SIK, MH, Deputy for Cyber and Crypto Security Strategy and Policy, BSSN on Tuesday, October 25 in Jakarta.

According to him, data security issues are an important concern, especially the management of personal data for both business and public purposes.

"Through the National Cybersecurity Strategy (SKSN), BSSN seeks to create safe cyber conditions and play an active role in the implementation of a safe, comfortable, and reliable digital economy," he explained further.

Dono added, this is very in line and also goes hand in hand with the efforts and seriousness shown by Google in maintaining system security and managed data, especially considering that billions of users and business actors depend on Google's system.

"Therefore, we express our high appreciation for Google as one of the business actors for the various efforts made to contribute to improving Indonesia's cyber security posture, one of which is through organizing this activity," he concluded.

BSSN considers that by knowing the importance of cybersecurity and how Google works to protect all users of their system, it will be able to increase people's confidence to move in the digital world.
