JAKARTA - SEGA and developers Amplitude Studios and Aspyr announced that the release of their turn-based strategy games, entitled Humankind for Playstation 4/5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, will be postponed.

This bad news was delivered directly by the developer through an announcement shared on Twitter. Neither the developer nor the publisher said the exact date when the game would be released.

"We have to share sad news with you today: We and our partners Aspyr Media have experienced an unexpected challenge in porting HUMANKIND to the console, and should delay releases on Playstation 4/5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S until further notice," Studio wrote in the announcement.

Studio regretted this delay and said: "We know it will be frustrating for a lot of you, but we believe this delay is for the best, because we want to make sure to provide the best experience to console players."

Although it does not yet have a release date, the developer said that players who have pre-ordered games at PS4, PS5, Xbox One, or Xbox Series X/S will get a refund.

"Unfortunately, we are not in a position to provide a timeframe on the new release date now, but we will update you all as soon as possible. Meanwhile, anyone who has pre-purchased in the digital storefront will receive a refund if it applies in accordance with platform policy," he said.

Humankind is a 4X-based strategic genre video game developed by Amplitude Studios, which was first published in August 2021 for Microsoft Windows and Google Stadia platforms.

Since its release on PC last year, Humankind has gained a number of updates and DLCs. This update includes the latest expansion for the game, Together We Rule, by introducing a new gameplay into the game.
