JAKARTA - Electric vehicles (EVs) are currently increasingly loved by many people in the world because of their attractive, innovative and sleek appearance.

However, not only vehicles, EV charging station infrastructure is also important to watch out for. Because, without a strong charging hub network to plug in, using electric vehicles for anything other than short distances, local travel can be a challenge.

To run Zero, Zero, Zero, General Motors (GM) vision, it is committed to providing a simplified, efficient, and accessible charging experience for all EV drivers through collaboration with dealers and charging station operators.

"We are trying to simplify the charging experience and help close the charging equity gap in our community," the company wrote in a statement.

Filling in wherever you are

Currently, nearly 90 percent of US population live within 10 miles of GM dealers. Together with participating dealers, the company helps supply up to 40,000 Level 2 chargers at popular destinations and workplaces in the areas it dealers serve.

To help accelerate EV adoption broadly, increase access to charging and help enable long-distance electric travel of people and vehicles across the US, GM is working with Pilot Company (Pilot and Flying J) on a national DC fast charging network to be installed, operated, and maintained by EVgo through their eXtend offerings.

The project will build a charging infrastructure, particularly along American highways, that connect urban and rural communities, the East and West Coasts, and different metropolitan areas.

GM has also teamed up with EVgo to install 3,250 additional fast charging stations in US cities and suburbs by the end of 2025.
