JAKARTA - Meta's social media platform, Instagram seems to be preparing to roll out new tools to its app. Based on findings from a social media consultant and industry analyst, Matt Navarra on Twitter, he found a new Repost tab on his profile page.

"Tab Repost on profile?! What is this?" Navarra wrote on his Twitter account on Wednesday, September 7 last.

This news was later confirmed by Meta, who said that Instagram was preparing to give users the ability to repost posts from other users.

"We are exploring the ability to share posts on Feed similar to the way you share them on Stories, so people can share what suits them, so that the original creators are rewarded for their work," a Meta spokesperson said via email to TechCrunch.

Although Meta's company hasn't released a publicly repost feature yet, the company plans to start testing with select users soon.

"We plan to test this soon with a small number of people," he added further.

Based on a screenshot posted by Navarra, the Repost tab will be on your profile page, and the location is next to the posted post, reels, and photo tabs.

As the spokesperson for Meta explained, this feature may be similar to the repost feature in Stories. The difference is, you will see that the post is in your Instagram feed.
