JAKARTA - Royal Caribbean Group announced on Tuesday, August 30 that it will use SpaceX's Starlink satellite internet network. This satellite constellation emits internet networks in orbit, to provide internet connectivity to guests and crew on their cruise ships.

The US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in June authorized Elon Musk's SpaceX to use the Starlink satellite internet network for moving vehicles, lighting up the company's plans to expand broadband offerings to commercial airlines, shipping ships and trucks.

Cruise ship operators will begin implementing this service across the Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises and Silversea Cruises brands, with installations expected to be completed by the end of next year's first quarter.

Previously, Starlink had also collaborated with T-Mobile to provide internet networks for this telecommunications company in the United States. T-Mobile US, will use SpaceX's Starlink satellite to provide network access to mobile users in several US states.

Even Indonesia has also explored cooperation with Starlink to provide networks for domestic internet providers. The collaboration between Indonesian President Joko Widodo and Tesla CEO, Elon Musk, was recently intended to build digital infrastructure in Indonesia.
