JAKARTA - Sony announced Monday, August 29 that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire the Savage Game Studios.

According to Sony, Savage Games Studios is a very talented creative team with years of experience in making some of the most popular mobile games enjoyed by players around the world.

"We share tireless ambitions of innovating, along with a ongoing push to expand our audience and bring PlayStation to more people than ever before," wrote Hermen Hulst, Head of PlayStation Studios in its announcement.

Later, Savage Game will join the newly created Mobile PlayStation Studios Division, and will focus on making games based on new and existing IP PlayStation.

Sony said the new studio would operate independently from the development of console games. The goal is to reach a new audience and provide more ways for gamers to engage with their content.

On the other hand, Savage Game Studios said that they are happy to join PlayStation Studios who are not afraid to take risks.

"We made this deal because we believe that the leadership of PlayStation Studios respects our vision of how we can operate and succeed well, and because they are also not afraid to take any chances," explains Michail Kathatel, CEO and Co-founder of Savage Game Studios.

Currently, Savage Game Studios is working on AAA's mobile action game. However, the company refused to reveal the game further. "It's too early to reveal more," he said.
