ITB Wins First Place In The 2020 Huawei ICT Competition

JAKARTA - The team from the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) managed to bring home two prestigious titles at the Huawei ICT Competition 2020 Global. They managed to beat 109 teams from 39 countries who qualified for the final round at the global level.

From the ITB press release, the global level competition will take place on November 6-14 2020. The competition takes place online by accessing Huawei's e-Lab server in China.

The team from ITB consists of eight lecturers and students at the School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics (STEI). They are lecturers Rifqy Hakimi and Abdul Latif, as well as students Afif Tri Farhan, Joshua Christo Randiny, Putu Priyana Pradipta, Bagas Purwa Sentika, M. Nawaffaras Mahendika, and Gela Pambudi Adiluhung.

This competition in the field of information and communication technology challenges participants to produce problem solutions, configuration, and implementation in Huawei network devices, such as routers, switches, firewalls and access points. The most accurate solutions and implementations will receive high marks.

Apart from ITB from Indonesia, teams from Algeria, the Shenzhen Polytechnic team from China, team 1 from Malaysia, and team three from Nigeria also won the Grand Prize in the Network category. Then, in the Cloud category, ITB shared the victory with the Nigerian team, the Brazilian team, the Nanjing Vocational University of Industry Technology team from China, and the Egyptian team.

Meanwhile, the Grand Prize in the Innovation Competition category was won by the Singapore Polytechnic team and the Shanghai Jiao Tong University team from China. The Singapore Polytechnic team also won the TECH4ALL Social Contribution Award.
