JAKARTA - Having previously stated that it will launch an SUV version that is cheaper than the ID.4 crossover, Volkswagen has finally confirmed for the electric car.

The company says that the electric SUV that will be produced in 2023 in the US will be an EV with a smaller battery capacity and also a lower price.

Volkswagen revealed that the price of the EV will start at $38,790 for the ID.4 Standard. For this reason, the ID.4 will be an EV with a lower price compared to its predecessor ID.4 Pro 2022 at a price of US $ 41,955 (Rp 625 million).

As previously reported by VOI, the new ID.4 will be powered by a 62 kWh gross and 58 kWh battery when used.

The number above is certainly a decrease when compared to the ID.4 Pro 2022 with 82 kWh and 77 kWh when used for the 275 mile EPA range.

Citing Green Car Reports, VW is adding more standard technology to its new ID.4, including VW Intelligent Park Assist, a 45-watt USB-C charging port (both for laptops and tablets), and a larger 12-inch infotainment screen.

Not only that, the range of active safety features has also been expanded with pedestrian and cyclist detection added to automatic emergency braking.

The ID.4 will be assembled at VW's factory in Chattanooga, Tennessee, it's safe to get new colors and trims, and the addition of new wheels on all versions.
