IOS Users, Can Delete Instagram Accounts Permanently Directly App

JAKARTA - The new Meta option for the app now allows users to delete their instagram account directly via the mobile app via iOS.

"Starting June 30, 2022, apps submitted to Stores that support account creation must also allow users to initiate deletion of their accounts within the app," Apple said in a developer blog.

This step was taken to comply with the App Store Review Guidelines which now mandate that all apps that offer account creation must also include in-app account deletion as well.

Previously, you still had to use a web browser to delete your Instagram account, but now the company has announced that they have introduced this option for iOS users.

"We've rolled out the option to delete your account in Settings on iOS, and you still have the option to temporarily deactivate your account before choosing to delete it." a Meta spokesperson said in a statement, quoted by TechCrunch.

If you choose to permanently delete your account, you still have 30 days to change that decision. This is in accordance with Apple's guidelines which say that account deletion takes time after initiation.

However, to temporarily deactivate an account is still the same as before, where you can choose a time before returning to Instagram.
