JAKARTA - The Tinder online dating application now has a new feature that allows users to make video calls. The new feature is called Face to Face.
"We are very pleased to share that our Face to Face feature was launched into our global community after receiving positive feedback from our members who had early access to it," said Head of Trust and Safety Products at Tinder, Rory Kozoll as quoted by The Independent , Tuesday October 27th.
This feature can only be used when two Tinder users have matched and a new button will appear at the top right of the chat screen which resembles a blue video camera. Later, if the user taps the button it will activate the video call feature.
After both users in the chat have activated the video call, the blue video camera icon will turn pink. The button can be turned on, and off, at any time when the user wants, even in a conversation.
It should be noted, Tinder has implemented some rules to its video chat feature. Where the dating application will not allow users to appear naked or sexual content, content that involves minors, and does not allow harassment, speech that encourages hatred, violence, or other illegal activities.
This feature is similar to WhatsApp's video calling feature. While chatting, users have the option to mute the microphone, video camera and flip the camera from the front camera to the main camera of their device.
Even so, unlike FaceTime or Skype, Tinder's video calling feature can split the screen horizontally and fill the entire screen.
"Nobody should be cornered when it comes to knowing the match. Conversation is a two-way street, and it would be best if you were 50/50 together. Plus, it helps you ensure that you put your best face with your partner, "says Tinder.
Meanwhile, if a call goes wrong, or there is something the user thinks needs to be reported, they can send a report to Tinder when the call ends. The feedback is not shared with others.
For now, Face to Face service has been launched for users in the United States (US), UK, Brazil, Australia, Spain, Italy, France, Vietnam, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Peru, and Chile. Tinder users in Indonesia can also use the video call service to find a mate.
The English, Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, and French versions are automatically generated by the AI. So there may still be inaccuracies in translating, please always see Indonesian as our main language. (system supported by DigitalSiber.id)
