Here's How To Mute Chat Notifications In WhatsApp Groups Forever

JAKARTA - WhatsApp (WA) has finally added an option to mute (mute) conversation notifications in the WA group forever. Where previously, the muting option could only be done for a maximum of one year.

Through its official account on Twitter, WhatsApp announced the option "Always Mute" to turn off notifications in group conversations. This feature can be found after updating the WhatsApp application to version 2.20.203.

This is of course quite helpful for WhatsApp users who are often disturbed by message notifications that appear from chats in the WA group. Users who need privacy often use the option to mute conversation notifications for a certain period of time.

Where previously, WhatsApp only presented an option to mute (mute) conversation notifications for eight hours, one day, one week or at most a year. This means that users will not get message notifications from WhatsApp people or groups.

Then how to mute chat notifications indefinitely or the Always Mute option on WhatsApp?

1. Since this is a new feature, users must update their WhatsApp application through the Play Store or the App Store.

2. If so, open WhatsApp on your cellphone and select the chat you want to mute, it can be a group or someone's account.

3. Then, select tap the three dots in the upper right corner to select the option mute (mute).

4. Next, tap the Mute option and select Always to mute conversation notifications from chats in the group forever.

In this way, users don't have to bother muting the notifications every year over and over. The same procedure is available for WhatsApp Web.
