JAKARTA - Security firm Sensity recently discovered a network of deepfake bots on the instant messaging service Telegram. The bot produces computer-generated images of naked women upon request.

Quoting Engadget, Thursday, October 22, around 104,000 images of naked women have been found on the Telegram application in the last three months. This number has increased by nearly 200 percent, since last July.

It is known that the software bot caused the photos of the woman to appear naked. The loophole was found in bot systems that adopt artificial antelligence (AI) or artificial intelligence on the Telegram platform.

Worse, many women are victims of this software error. They worry that the situation will be exacerbated by photographs of minors.

It is known that the DeepNude algorithm is freely available in open source. It is feared that this bot will enter the Telegram ecosystem, which runs from an online server and allows anyone with a smartphone to access the software.

As much as 70 percent of the majority who use these bots are known to come from Russia. The country, which until now has banned the use of Telegram, has even entered the largest social media network in Russia, VK.

Sensity also found in one of the Telegram communities, similar bot software used in countries such as the UK and Canada for free or subscription. Sensity says the software that supports the bot's capabilities comes from an open source file from DeepNude.

According to the Sensity report, there are seven DeepFake bot Telegram channels with a total following of more than 100,000 members. Sensity has also reported the channel to Telegram and legal authorities, but has received no response so far.
