JAKARTA - Surprisingly, Twitter announced that they will be closing TweetDeck for Mac which will require users to use the web version in the future.
Starting July 1, Mac users will no longer be able to use the standalone Mac app from TweetDeck. This means that users can only open TweetDeck from the web.
"We said goodbye to TweetDeck for Mac app to focus on making TweetDeck even better and testing our new Preview. July 1 is the last day it will be available," tweeted @TweetDeck.

Twitter started testing an updated version of TweetDeck last year. The new-look TweetDeck uses the same design language as the Twitter web app.
It is not known for certain the reason why Twitter closed the TweetDeck application on the Apple-owned device. There are rumors that Twitter is planning to make TweetDeck a paid feature as part of Twitter Blue to encourage more people to sign up.
Because, aspiring new Twitter owner Elon Musk has ambitious revenue targets for his subscription service, so moving TweetDeck to such a service doesn't seem impossible.
However, there is another option to use TweetDeck via the app. Users can turn web apps into native Mac apps using services like Unite for macOS or Coherence X.
Alternatively, users can switch to another app like Tweeten, which is based on TweetDeck. This is quoted from 9to5Mac, Thursday, June 2.
