JAKARTA - Slack is a messaging app for businesses that connects people with the information they need. By bringing people together to work as a unified team, Slack is changing the way organizations communicate.
On Wednesday, June 1st, Slack announced its profile update as a new way to encourage connection, collaboration, and inclusion with teammates in your office.
Product Director, Slack, Maxwell Hayman said that the redesigned Slack profile makes it easier to see who you work with. So you can work better with them.

"Plus, new features that will help you represent your whole and authentic self at work," Hayman continued in the announcement.
There are five ways Slack profiles make it easy to virtually navigate your organization, the first being the simpler Profile UI. In the new profile, you will find three new modules, namely Contact information, People, and About Me.
Next, there will be an audio feature that will allow you to record the exact pronunciation of your name. That way, anyone who views your profile can hear it and know how to pronounce your name correctly the first time. This feature is rolling out in Slack starting June 1.
The third Slack update is the Hover Card. The Hover Card is a subtle design improvement made to reduce the friction that gets in the way of digital connections.
So when you hover your mouse over someone's name, a card will contain the user's picture and a brief profile will appear. You can expand their profile information by clicking on the name.
Slack also brings Flexible Text, which launched earlier this year. Profile fields for Slack Atlas subscribers can now support up to 5,000 text characters.
It allows you to express yourself in a deeper way, and expands your bio.
The next feature is Smart Tags which allows admins to be able to create fields that are turned into searchable and filterable “tags”. Think: skills, areas of focus, language, and so on.
For example, if you are trying to find a coworker to translate French. With Smart Tags, you'll be able to quickly identify the right co-workers by searching for "France" and clicking the Search people tab.
The English, Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, and French versions are automatically generated by the AI. So there may still be inaccuracies in translating, please always see Indonesian as our main language. (system supported by DigitalSiber.id)
