Higgs Domino's Online Gambling Encroaches On Government, Tanjungpinang Education Council Concerned

JAKARTA - The proliferation of online or online gambling in the country has made a number of parties concerned. The Education Council of Tanjungpinang City, Riau Islands, stated that conventional gambling games, playing fields, and online gambling have the potential to give birth to an unproductive generation and therefore must be closed.

Zamzami, who also works as a lecturer at the College of Social and Political Sciences, said that gambling is now not only done by adults, but also by children and teenagers. Many students have also played online gambling or online through their cellphones.

Secretary of the Tanjungpinang Education Office, Saparilis, said that online gambling games in the last two years have begun to spread by children to adults, so it is worrying the world of education.

Online gambling activities can be done anywhere as long as the players use smart devices that have internet facilities. Therefore, online gambling is much more dangerous because it is difficult to control.

"First, we are worried about games that don't smell like gambling but take up a lot of students' time. Now, since the last two years, there have been children and teenagers playing online gambling. Maybe at first they were just experimenting, and eventually got addicted to buying chips," he said.

Saparilis appealed to teachers and parents to monitor the cell phones used by students. Parents and teachers should recognize these types of online gambling so they can monitor them.

"We ask the government to close access to online gambling which has threatened the world of education," he said.
