JAKARTA - Telegram is getting closer to introducing its premium tier. The news was discovered by Alessandro Paluzzi, a mobile developer on his twitter.

From the screenshots shared, Paluzzi found a new tagline that is thought to drastically change the words on the welcome screen, when you install the app.

If you previously installed Telegram, you'd read the tagline "Telegram is free forever. No ads. No subscription fees."

However, that text will be replaced with "Telegram provides unlimited free cloud storage for chat and media." That's a clear indication that plans to hold a premium subscription are in the works and are likely to be introduced soon.

Launching GSMArena, the same developer describes some of the exclusive features that Telegram will offer to its paid accounts.

Telegram premium subscribers will get a badge, a star badge that will appear your name in the chat list.

Apart from that, the app will also give you access to exclusive stickers and reactions. Since this is just a leak, and there has been no confirmation from Telegram, the subscription fee is a mystery.
