JAKARTA - In March, Instagram launched a caption or automatic caption feature for all videos in its Feed, to make it easier for the deaf community to access.

This feature is also available in 17 languages in automatic captions, namely Indonesian, English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Arabic, Vietnamese, Italian, German, Turkish, Russian, Thai, Tagalog, Urdu, Malay, Hindi, and Japanese.

However, if you are still confused about how to activate or deactivate this auto text feature, here's how you can do it on iPhone and Android.

Enable or Disable Text

If you want to enable captions for every video that appears in your feed, you only need to adjust one setting.

Tap your profile in the lower right corner of the screen. Select the hamburger menu at the top right of the screen, then select Settings. Go to Account > Text Enable the Text option.

You can repeat the steps above to disable captions.

Enable Subtitles for One Video

If you don't want to add captions to every video you view, you can choose to enable captions for only one video, as follows.

Tap the three dots in the top right corner of the video. If the video supports captions, you'll see an option that says Manage Subtitles. Enable the Text option. Posting Videos with Subtitles

In addition to making it easier for the deaf community to understand the content, the addition of automatic captions in videos is also useful for content creators.

Because, you don't need to edit again to add text which will definitely take a long time.

Here's how to add or disable text in your posts.

Upload videos to Instagram. After that, select Advanced Settings from the menu that appears before you post your video. Under Accessibility, enable or disable the Show Text option

If you forget to turn on captions before posting a video, you can always do so afterwards.

Tap the three dots that appear in the top right corner of your video Click Edit. On Android, select Clear Text to turn it off. On iPhone, press Advanced Settings and then enable or disable the Show text option.

The English, Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, and French versions are automatically generated by the AI. So there may still be inaccuracies in translating, please always see Indonesian as our main language. (system supported by DigitalSiber.id)
