JAKARTA - Twitter has a unique way of explaining its new Privacy Policy to users, through a new browser game dubbed Data Dash.
Usually information about the platform is provided through an article, but this method is quite tedious and therefore Data Dash is Twitter's solution.
The aim of the game, of course, is to educate people about the information Twitter collects, how it is used, and what control users have over it.
The social media giant says the game is designed to help users learn how to safely navigate the Twitterverse.
To start the game, the user will be asked to select a language. After that, there will be an option to choose a character. The game is played by helping a dog named Data navigate PrivaCity safely avoiding ads, avoiding spam DMs and avoiding Twitter trolls.
Each time a user completes a level, they will learn more about Twitter's privacy policy and what they can do to keep themselves safe on the platform.

At each level, the user will be treated to learn something from the platform. The game is created by pixel artist and game developer Momo Pixel.
"Through the Twitter Data Dash, we hope to encourage more people around the world to take over their personal information on our services and maybe even have fun in the process," Twitter said in an official statement quoted from TechCrunch, Thursday, May 12.
"Transparency is at the heart of our approach and we want to help you understand the information we collect, how it is used and the controls you have."

Twitter has released the game as part of its broader efforts to make its privacy policy easier to understand. The social media with the blue bird logo has also reorganized the policy into three main categories: data collection, data use and data sharing.
There's also a clearer explanation of how Twitter personalizes the user experience and the ads they see. Dash data is available starting today in nine languages: English, Spanish, French, Italian, German, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Russian.
