Officially Acquired By Musiio, SoundCloud Combines Music With Artificial Intelligence

JAKARTA - SoundCloud acquires Mussio, an AI company in machine learning technology. The May 3 acquisition means Musiio will strengthen SoundCloud's music intelligence capabilities, and allow the company to better leverage its data to identify music trends and talent.

"SoundCloud hosts more music from more creators than any platform on the planet. Acquiring Musiio accelerates our strategy to better understand how music moves in exclusive ways, which is critical to our success," said Eliah Seton, President of SoundCloud, in his blog quoted Thursday 5 May.

Musiio technology focuses on B2B audio reference search (AI that can listen to music), auto tagging, and playlist tools for the music industry.

By listening to more songs than humans can and identifying characteristics and patterns, AI enables users to better predict success. Musiio will be at the heart of the SoundCloud discovery experience and help identify talent and trends ahead of others.

Musiio was founded in June 2018 and was recently named one of the Fast Company Most Innovative Companies for 2022. Musiio is based in Singapore and was founded by UK CEO Hazel Savage and Swedish CTO Aron Pettersson.
