WhatsApp Adds New Features For Android Users

JAKARTA - WhatsApp again presents a variety of new features that will make it easier for users. One of them is by adding a media search feature for Android users.

"With this feature, users can search for media such as photos, GIF files, links, videos, documents and audios in the chat on Whatsapp," said the official WhatsApp Twitter account, Friday, October 9.

In fact, this feature first appeared for iOS users a few months ago, and only today is WhatsApp announced for Android users. WhatsApp promises to present a series of other features, because it is still in the testing phase, as summarized from Mashable.

1. Mute Message Notifications

It is known, previously WhatsApp users could only mute notifications in three choices, namely, 8 hours, 1 week, and 1 year.

Currently, the instant messaging service has planned that users can turn off group notifications forever. This feature will later replace the mute feature within a year. The option to mute forever doesn't only apply to groups, it can also be applied to chats of certain people.

2. Easily delete large files

Whatsapp is an application that has a large enough storage, and it is not uncommon for users to find it difficult to choose which messages take up the most memory. In the future, with the Storage Usage feature, it will be easier for users to delete large files.

In addition, the company will also inform you how big the files are in each chat. However, this feature is still under development.

3. Used on 4 devices at once

As previously reported, WhatsApp is reportedly bringing a support feature where users can use their Whatsapp account on four devices at once. And currently the feature is still in the final stages of development.

4. The message is scheduled for auto disappearing

This upcoming feature is enough to help optimize the instant messaging service. Because, later users can schedule a message to disappear automatically.

By implementing this feature, messages can be deleted automatically on both sides, both sender and recipient without a trace. If you can't wait for the original launch of this feature, users can try it via WhatsApp beta.

5. Wallpaper update

Lastly, an upcoming but testable feature is new wallpapers. This feature has been seen in WhatsApp beta for Android 2.20.199.5 which allows users to choose different wallpapers based on the themes used in the application.

For information, WhatsApp is also working on fixing this new wallpaper for iOS users.
