JAKARTA - Ubisoft is rumored to be closing its Hyper Scape servers at the end of April, which is believed to be due to a lack of players playing the game. But on the other hand, Ubisoft will make a new battle royale game that has a visual similar to 'Hyper Space'.
Citing Tom Henderson of Xputer, Tuesday, April 6, three sources have confirmed that Ubisoft is working on a new game dubbed 'Pathfinder'.
“We have made the difficult decision to end development of Hyper Scape and close the game on April 28. We set out to create a vertical, melee, and fast-paced shooter experience and we are so grateful to our community for joining us on our journey. We will take the important lessons from this game into future products," Ubisoft said in a statement.
The report comes from Tom Henderson via Exputer, who said he had seen images and videos of the game and it looks similar to Ubisoft's current battle royale, Hyper Scape, but more "cartoon in nature."
Pathfinder is said to be a PvPvE take on a battle royale, with players having to battle AI foes and other competitors as they work their way towards the center of the map to defeat boss-like foes.
To reach the boss in the middle, players must penetrate the outer and inner walls through a series of gates, with the gates that can be penetrated or locked changing each match.
Henderson reports that the game will be a "hero shooter", where there will be different playable characters to choose from who each have their own unique abilities.
Pathfinder will also reportedly have Destiny-like social spaces where players can shop, test weapons at shooting range, join events, and interact with other players.
Although there has been no official announcement from Ubisoft, you can expect the game to be coming soon.
