JAKARTA - Google has finally launched two of its newest smartphones, namely Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a 5G. These two new cellphones from Google are equipped with 5G connectivity.

The successor to Pixel 4 was launched in a virtual "Launch Night In" event on the YouTube channel, Thursday 1 September this morning. In line with the rumors that have been circulating, the Pixel 5 appears very simple but still charming.

Unfortunately, instead of using a high-end chipset like its competitors with the Snapdragon 865/865 Plus. Google "only" relies on a middle-class System-on-Chip (SoC), Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G as the "brains" of this latest cellphone.

The SoC is then paired with a RAM capacity of 8 GB and 128 GB of storage media. Just like the Pixel 4, the back of Google's latest cellphone is still equipped with a dual camera in a square module.

The main camera configuration on the Pixel 5 still uses a 12.2MP resolution and is equipped with an OIS image stabilizer feature. While the secondary camera uses an ultrawide lens with a resolution of 16 megapixels.

The two rear cameras of the Pixel 5 support a number of typical Google photography features, such as Night Sight, Live HDR +, Cinematic Pan, to Portrait Light. Turning to the front, the Pixel 5 measures 6 inches, capable of HDR + with a refresh rate of 90Hz.

Unlike the previous model, the Pixel 5 already supports a thinner screen bezel. Google relies on the camera hole design (punch hole) to accommodate the 8MP selfie camera.

Pixel 5 also retains the conventional fingerprint module that is located on the back of the cellphone. This phone has a battery with a capacity of 4,080 mAh which supports 18 watts of fast charging and features wireless charging and reverse charging (USB Power Delivery 2.0).

Regarding the price of the Google Pixel 5, it is pegged at US $ 699 or around Rp.10.3 million, which is cheaper than the Pixel 4 price at launch, which at that time the cheapest price was US $ 799 or around Rp.11.8 million.

Google still presents low-cost cellphone variants. Armed with the same specifications as its brother, the Pixel 4a 5G comes with the Snapdragon 765G chipset.

This SoC is supported by 128GB of internal memory with 6GB of RAM. This device has a 6.2-inch HDR-capable screen resolution, without supporting 90Hz refresh rate capabilities like the Pixel 5.

The Pixel 4a 5G camera sector has a dual camera on the back which includes a 12.2MP sensor with OIS and a 16MP ultra-wide camera. The selfie camera with 8MP resolution is placed in a punch hole module.

The cellphone battery is 3,885mAh, and includes a 3.5mm headphone jack. The Pixel 4a 5G is priced more expensive than the regular version, which is $ 499 or around Rp.7.4 million.

Along with the launch of the Pixel 4a and Pixel 5, Goole has also introduced several other smart devices including the $ 100 Nest Audio speaker, the new Chromcast and the company's new video streaming service, Google TV.
