JAKARTA - Youtube has finally introduced a picture-in-picture (PiP) mode for YouTube TV on iOS. This feature has existed before on Android. Users who want to try it must upgrade to iOS 15 or later.
First announced on his official Twitter account @YoutubeTV, this new feature allows users to continue watching shows in a smaller window while doing other things on their device.

Launching GSM Arena, Friday, April 1st, to activate PiP mode, users must first actually watch the video on their iPhone or iPad device, then switch to another app, or swipe up to open the home screen.
The active video will shrink to a corner of the device, and the user can then drag it to another desired corner.
To use YouTube TV, users need a subscription of $65 per month and comes with the ability to have half a dozen second profiles attached to the subscription, each with the ability to record as many shows and movies as they want.
Google's subscription streaming service is available on every major streaming platform, including Roku and Amazon Fire TV, which are the two largest platforms in the world. It is also available on Google TV and Android TV, Apple TV, various smart TV platforms, and in web browsers.
In fact, the PiP feature has long been requested by iOS users and was added to the YouTube app in June 2021. Unfortunately, the feature is currently available only for YouTube Premium subscribers (both on Android and iOS).
YouTube head of product Neal Mohan said in February that the feature would be coming to YouTube TV soon and would only take a month and a half.
YouTube TV is claimed to be the second largest live TV streaming service in the United States (US). It was last reported to have over 3 million subscribers in October 2020, but hasn't provided an update since.
It competes with Hulu With Live TV, which last reported having 4.1 million paid subscribers, and Sling TV had 2.486 million subscribers at last count.
