JAKARTA - After rolling out the Portrait Blur feature to Google One subscribers last week, Google is now bringing several new features to Google Photos.

While the update is aimed at the Library tab, which will help users easily organize photos on their devices, the changes will make it easier for users to find media in Google Photos, using new grid (or list) layouts and filters.

The updated Library tab will have a search filter right at the top, followed by a grid layout for all media folders on the user's device.

Additionally, the Favorites, Utilities, Archive, and Trash buttons, which currently appear at the top of the Library tab, will be moved to the bottom of the tab after the update. Likewise, the Locked Folder option will also appear next to these buttons.

Meanwhile, the photo sharing tab will now have dedicated sections for different partners, shared albums, and conversations. Google says changes to the sharing tab will arrive on Android this week with iOS following.

Launching XDA Developers, Wednesday, March 23, Google Photos also gets another feature for importing photos from off-platform locations. This will allow users to add photos from other photo storage services, upload photos directly from the camera, and digitize physical photos and films.

But of course, all this doesn't matter if users run out of storage space on Google Photos, as the company officially ended unlimited free storage last year.

That means, users can still enter their collections into Google Photos, the platform has also added a shortcut located at the top of the main photo grid.

That will take the user directly to the screenshot, while excluding them from the backup process in addition to the contextual suggestions carousel on Android that allows for texting, cutting, browsing, or copying text from screenshots.
