JAKARTA - Twitch will start rolling out its updated reporting tool next week. The company says the new feature has a more intuitive design for flagging users who behave badly.

Earlier in the year, Twitch's vice president of Trust and Safety, Angela Hession, promised that the company would implement an improved reporting and appeals process, now that the new feature will be available soon.

Among other improvements, Twitch brings a new search function that the live streaming service says will make it easier to pinpoint the exact reason a user wants to report someone. The company will also include a customized menu with the reported content.

Even so, Twitch anticipates that this new feature could also come later than expected for all its users.

"We know that sounds a bit old. But reporting tools touch every Twitch user around the world, so we're taking a thoughtful approach to ensure everything runs safely and smoothly for our global community," said Twitch.

Launching Engadget, Wednesday, March 23, the updated feature will be first available via the Twitch web client, after which it is scheduled to come to its mobile app.

Furthermore, Twitch is also launching a new appeals portal. The tool features some of the behind-the-scenes improvements that Twitch promises, allowing the Trust and Safety team to work faster through appeals.

The updated portal will provide visibility into what enforcement actions users can apply, as well as to view the status and results of any ongoing and past requests.

Lastly, Twitch says all of these updates will allow it to more quickly and consistently enforce its security policies. At the same time, the company believes that they will provide better insight into emerging behavioral patterns on its platform.

Twitch did not mention events in 2021 yesterday. But last year was a challenging year for the company. Lots of hate attacks that make many streamers feel that they are not safe on this platform.
