JAKARTA - Square Enix has started a new YouTube channel under the name Square Enix Music three days ago. Square Enix uploaded a large selection of songs from its various games, totaling more than 5.500 songs.
Apart from that, Square Enix Music also contains playlist links to all of its albums. Across 62 albums, you can officially listen to music from Chrono Trigger, Nier: Automata, and many Final Fantasy games.
This channel is still in its infancy. But Square Enix plans to fill this video channel with more videos detailing the making of the music for the game, music videos, and interviews with the composers behind some of these iconic tracks.
Taking a page of lo-fi music to relax in while you study the manual, the channel has a two-hour run of Mellow Minstrel Mix, and the more energetic Airship Cruise Beats when you need an audio boost.
In the video games department, Square Enix also had a few games to show off at State of Play yesterday, such as Exoprimal, Ghostwire: Tokyo, Forspoken, Returnal: Ascension, JoJo's Bizarre All Star Battle R, The Diofield Chronicle, and Valkyrie Elysium.
Square Enix's move is to give fans the opportunity to listen to music from its classic games. This has been something fans have been asking for for years from publishers, as well as other video game companies with rich musical histories.

Nintendo is one of the brands that fans have been asking for to release its video game soundtracks online, but the company has been in the news for aggressively protecting its intellectual property.
Earlier this year, Nintendo issued more than 4.000 copyright strikes to a single user who hosted and uploaded music from its games, eventually resulting in the closure of the GilvaSunner channel.
Since then, Nintendo and the Pokemon Company launched a new website with a library of sounds from the 2006 game Pokemon Diamond and Pearl for the Nintendo DS, which pales in comparison to Total War: Warhammer 3's metal approach to music.
