Apple Co-Founder Steve Wozniak Calls Bitcoin A “Mathematical Miracle”

JAKARTA – One of the founders of the technology giant Apple, Steve Wozniak, discussed cryptocurrency with Insider. Wozniak stated that currently there are many cryptocurrencies emerging and anyone can create a new one.

Plus, the emergence of the new crypto was escorted by a number of celebrities. Wozniak argues, “it looks like they just raised a lot of money from people who wanted to invest in the very early stages, when (crypto) was worth cents.”

On the other hand, Wozniak also argues that some people buy cryptocurrencies because they are not aware of the potential windfall of cryptocurrencies in the future.

Discussing Bitcoin, the Apple founder explained that cryptocurrencies are “pure mathematical gold.” Previously, he also briefly praised the world's number one cryptocurrency by calling Bitcoin a "mathematical miracle" in July 2021.

On the other hand, Wozniak worries that the government will ban Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. He assessed that the government would continue to monitor cryptocurrencies.

“The problem is the government will never let it (crypto) get out of their control. If it gets to the point where everything is done in crypto and doesn't go through the government for observation and taxation and all that stuff, the government will just ban it. They will not give up their power,” he said as quoted by Bitcoin.com News.

In July 2020, Wozniak filed a lawsuit against YouTube and Google for promoting a Bitcoin giveaway scam. The reason is that the fraud featured a photo of himself and Wozniak's own name. Wozniak is openly fighting crypto scams.

Fraud or commonly called scamming has also been in the name of Tesla boss Elon Musk. The scammers use social media accounts using names and profile photos similar to Elon Musk. They even often pretend to be Elon Musk.
