JAKARTA - Online food ordering company, Grubhub, on Friday, March 4, said it had ended its partnership with Russian technology giant Yandex NV for the use of driverless robots to deliver food to students.
The announcement came as Russian companies began to be shunned globally because of the invasion of Ukraine. Grubhub is a unit of Just Eat Takeaway.com NV, Europe's largest food delivery company.
The two companies agreed to a multi-year partnership in July 2012, connecting Yandex's autonomous delivery robot to the Grubhub platform on select college campuses.

"We will be terminating our partnership with Yandex," Grubhub said in a statement cited by Reuters. "We work with our campus partners on alternative service options as we move away from Yandex from time to time."
Grubhub does not mention Ukraine. But now many companies have stopped doing business in Russia and with companies from Russia because the country invaded Ukraine, last February 24.
A Yandex spokesperson confirmed the partnership had ended but gave no further details.
