The automaker said it had signed a letter of intent to work with Norwegian aluminum maker Norsk Hydro, Swedish air bag and seat belt maker Autoliv, lighting and electronics unit LG Corp, ZKW Group, ZF and SSAB to eliminate carbon emissions in various areas of its electric vehicles. (EV).

The automotive industry is currently under pressure to use electricity in Europe and China. But they are still grappling with the problem that it takes more carbon emissions to produce an EV than a fossil-fueled car, mainly because of its large battery.

The electric car manufacturer was founded in 2017 by Volvo Car Group and China's Zhejiang Geely Holding.
SSAB will work with Polestar on fossil-free steel, and Hydro will work on carbon-free aluminum, while the others will focus on reducing emissions in the production of parts and components.
